Luis Sierra Performance

Uncle Luis will be showcasing his theater talent once again with the Iowa City Community Theatre. This time he's directing Bus Stop by William Inge.




Bus Stop: In the middle of a howling snowstorm, a bus out of Kansas City pulls up at a cheerful roadside diner. All roads are blocked, and four or five weary travelers are going to have to hole up until morning. Cherie, a nightclub chanteuse, is the passenger with most to worry about: she's been pursued, made love to and finally kidnapped by a twenty-one-year-old cowboy with a ranch of his own and the romantic methods of an unusually headstrong bull. As a counterpoint to the main action, the proprietor of the cafe and the bus driver at last find time to develop a friendship of their own; a middle-age scholar comes to terms with himself; and a young girl who works in the cafe also gets her first taste of romance.

Performance dates are scheduled for:
FEB. 6, 7, 13, 14 @ 7:30 PM
FEB. 8, 15 @ 2:00 PM

Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for students & seniors, and $10 for children.

Grandma Lucha is coming.

The increased risk associated with my Aunt Sue has prompted my Grandmother to fly up from Leon.

She is flying into the QC Airport on Wednesday and will be staying for three weeks (February 4).

Grandma will be staying at my Dad's (Henry) house in East Moline.

I talked to several sources on what's going on with my Aunt Sue. I haven't talked to Uncle G.G. yet, but this is what I have gathered:

Sue is having her gall bladder removed on Monday, January 12.
Her pancreas is/was failing.
Due to other complications there is an increase in risk associated with the surgery.

According to reports Sue does not have congestive heart failure as reported several months ago.

I will try to keep everyone informed as best as possible. Feel free to leave comments if the information is incorrect or if there are any updates.
