Here's what you need to know:

• You have to have a broadband/Hi-Speed internet like DSL or cable serivce.
• You have to buy the adapter.
• The adapter cost is $210.
• You use your existing telephone.

What it is.

OOMA is a Voice-over-Internet-Protocol or VoIP. VoIP is a service similar to your regular telephone service you buy from your local phone company. The difference is instead of using the phone line into your house from the street, it uses your internet connection.

Why is that better than my regular phone?

Costs. Lots of people enjoy a hi-speed internet connection. That connection can be used for so much more than downloading email and watching youtube. The FCC and state regulatory bodies impose fees, taxes and charges that are passed to the consumer. Ever wonder how you buy a $40/mo phone plan and the bill ends up being $60 after taxes and fees? Me too. (My DSL connection from AT&T is $35/month that's it, no fees, no taxes, no crap.) Why not share that connection with your phone and save $$$$$$$.

Check where you work & you are probably already using VOIP! Why? Because it's cheaper. (there is a difference between the service they have and the one I'm explaining).
